Mathematics

This Key Learning Area provides students with knowledge, skills, and understanding in Mathematics. It focuses on developing mathematical understanding, fluency, communication, logical reasoning, analytical thought and problem-solving skills, in order for the students to make informed decisions and solve problems relevant to their further education and everyday lives.

The broad strands of Mathematics are :

  • Measurement and Geometry
  • Statistics and Probability

At Holy Family, the EMU (Extending Mathematical Understanding) intervention program is implemented.  This program targets the development of essential Mathematical understandings : counting, place value, addition and subtraction, and multiplication and division.
