The sacraments of First Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion are important milestones in your child’s faith journey and their welcome into our Church community. The celebrations of the sacraments are important events in the life of your family and also of the wider Church community.
The Sacramental Preparation Programmes help prepare members of the parish to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation, Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
In the weeks leading up to each sacrament, there will be special celebrations during Sunday Mass. Attendance at these Masses is an essential part of the preparation process.
Why Confirmation first?
In our diocese we follow the traditional order of the sacraments, with First Holy Communion being the final of the above three sacraments to be celebrated. The celebration of First Reconciliation and Confirmation therefore precede First Communion.

How to enrol
Enrolments and payments are completed online through Humanitix.*
The cost for each sacramental preparation programme in 2026 is $78 per family (not per child). If you are experiencing difficulty with this fee, please contact Fr Colin at colin@lindfieldkillara.org.au or (02) 9416 7195.
All children are warmly welcomed. If your child has any difficulties please contact us—together we will work out the best plan.
The enrolment period for the 2026 Confirmation Programme is June 23 – September 8.
In Preparation
A copy of your child’s baptism certificate must be emailed to maia@lindfieldkillara.org.au upon enrolment.
If your child was baptised in the Lindfield–Killara Parish, please still email to let us know so we can locate the record in our system.
Group Sessions
Group sessions will be held on the Lindfield Church and School grounds.
For Confirmation:
Confirmation Name: Please research a Confirmation name with your child before the enrolment period, as this will be required when enrolling online. Our diocese asks that the Confirmation name be a Canonised Saint’s name since your child is choosing that saint as a model to follow in their own Christian life.
Your child may also choose to be confirmed with their original Baptism Name (if it is a Saint’s name). Saints names that will be accepted are found on the Parish website under ‘Sacraments’, at the bottom of the page see the link under ‘Choosing the name of a Saint for Confirmation’.
Sponsor: Your child’s sponsor needs to be over 16 years old and fully initiated into Catholic Church (i.e. has received Confirmation and Holy Communion). A proxy can stand in for an absent Sponsor but they would also need to be a fully initiated Catholic. A parent cannot be the proxy nor the Sponsor.

For your convenience, the Piety Shop for Sacramental gifts is located in the parish office (1st floor, above the Lindfield church). We stock gifts including Bibles, religious books, rosary beads, figurines, prayer cards and much more.
